WORK WITH US

WHO WE ARE

Storymine is an award-winning social enterprise based in the heart of rural Shropshire. Directors Emma and Peter Summers are a creative partnership who are passionate about offering communities the opportunity to engage in high-quality arts activities. Emma and Peter love working in non-art spaces, breaking down barriers about what art is and who can participate. They create, perform and share artistic works that entertain, inspire, educate and inform. They use fairy tales, folk stories, global myths and cultural legends as the inspiration for the development of their work. They create films, installations, performances and exhibitions which engage with and raise awareness of issues faced by communities across the UK. Storymine is an Arts Award Centre and Emma and Peter are both Arts Award Advisors. They are committed to developing opportunities for communities to engage with the arts.

WHAT WE DO

We have worked on a number of community art projects since establishing ourselves in 2017. Our Portal project has been hugely successful and has been taken to communities across Shropshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire. We have collaborated with National Portfolio Arts organisation Meadow Arts, the Museum of Royal Worcester, Forestry England, the Probation Service, the Live At Home scheme, rural schools across South Shropshire, urban schools in Worcester, Ludlow Castle, Ludlow Foyer, Ludlow Library and many others. Based in the historic town of Ludlow in Shropshire, we are committed to working within our local rural community supporting local education centres, voluntary groups and other organisations through creative opportunities to engage in the arts. We aim to partner with local, national and international organisations to deliver arts projects that open up communities and allow people to explore the many ways which art and storytelling can transform people, families and communities. We are passionate about creating artistic works that are influenced by our environment, our natural and historical landscapes and the people who live within them.
